Using the X-ray Telescope on board the Swift satellite, we have detected a number of young supernovae (SNe) in X-rays, including SNe 2005cs (Type II), 2006jd (Type IIb), 2008ax (Type IIp), 2008ij (Type II), and 2009dd (Type II). The data have been used to monitor the long-term X-ray light curve, map the circumstellar matter density as a function of distance from the site of the explosion, and to probe the mass-loss rate of the progenitors before explosion. We also report on tentative results on the X-ray emission from thermonuclear (Type Ia) SNe.
