The Rapid Burster (MXB 1730-335) is a unique object showing both type I (thermonuclear) and type II (accretion driven) X-ray bursts. In January-March 2009 the Rapid Burster experienced an unusual long plateau, with steady daily average intensities of about 50 m Crab for more than 20 days. Swift TOO observations during this period, between February 26 and March 5, show intense type II activity and one type I X-ray burst with photospheric radius expansion.
