The model of superrotation in an infinite layer heated from below is developed on the basis of Navier-Stokes equations for a compressible viscous gas. An undecaying, directed oscillating flow was obtained in the system for various Rayleigh numbers, provided that an initial vertical wind shear is superimposed on the undisturbed convective cells. The model can be extended to an atmospheric ring, which represents an equatorial cross section of the atmosphere with a radius much greater than its thickness. The results of the modeling can be used to account for the rotation of the atmospheres of Venus, Earth, and other planets, and also rotating stars.
