Over the past year and a half several important measurements of high-energy electrons have been reported, but the results of different measurements have not always been mutually consistent. Five papers in this session will report the latest results. In this Summary paper, I will attempt to synthesize those results, indicating where there is now agreement and where further work is necessary. (I am a cosmic-ray experimenter with interest in these results, but I have not been a participant in any of these measurements, so I hope to be able to present a balanced view of the status of this field.)
