Flux variations of protons with energies from 30 keV to 2.8 MeV were investigated on the basis of data obtained with the Horizont geostationary communications satellite (1984-78A) during the magnetic storm of September 4, 1984. The data obtained are compared with data from ground-based magnetic observatories and with data from the AMPTE/CCE experiments. The effects of adiabatic variations and injection processes on the dynamics of the proton fluxes are investigated.
