A possibility to observe light stop signal above the Standard Model background was analysed for SU4 low mass SUSY model. With a production cross section of 270 pb, SU4 seems to be a promising target for SUSY searches with early ATLAS data. In order to extract a light stop signal from the decay g~ --> t~1t --> χ~1+/-tb the final state tb invariant mass distribution was reconstructed. A kinematic endpoint was observed at a position close to the expected value for this decay chain which is 300 GeV. By establishing proper event selection criteria SM backgrounds can be suppressed to the level S/B > 4 with only 200 pb-1 of data. The analysis was performed on fully simulated ATLAS data.
