The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) currently relies on a hardware trigger that involves three sequential tracker planes reporting simultaneous hits in both the x and y directed strips. Since GLAST expects a noise occupancy of approximately 2 x 10-5, there is a chance that this trigger can be caused by noise. By increasing the trigger requirement to four sequential planes, the probability of this false trigger can be reduced. This newer trigger can also operate effectively even when one of the x or y oriented planes is malfunctioning. The efficiency of a four-in-a-row trigger was studied using various input spectra this summer, and we found that it was most efficient for near horizontal events.
