We calculate the limiting surface brightness defining the optical diameters of galaxies in the catalogues by Nilson and Vorontsov-Vel'jaminov based on the limiting surface brightness given by Holmberg and de Vaucouleurs. The internal dispersions in the surface brightness are given. Grouping the galaxies in two classes of morphological types, we derive statistical relations between the diameter systems and justify the relations with a statistical test. We then obtain the internal dispersions of the diameters for Holmberg's, Vorontsov-Vel'jaminov's, Nilson and de Vaucouleurs' catalogues. The results show that Nilson's blue diameters are more homogeneous than Vorontsov-Vel'jaminov's outer-diameters and at least as homogeneous as those of Holmberg.-
