An analysis of 263 days of range and Doppler data between three tracking stations on earth and the two Viking landers on Mars is applied to the determination of Martian rotation rate, mean orientation of the spin axis, and nutations. The relativistic parameter, gamma, has been calculated to be 1.00003 plus or minus 0.0025, and the period of the rotation rate, 1 h 37 min 22.662 s, is consistent with previous results. With regard to the spin axis, right ascension (RA) and declination (D) of the mean north pole with respect to the terrestrial mean equator and equinox of 1950.0 have been determined, with RA equals 317.346 deg -0.101058 T; D equals 52.714 deg -0.057066 T (T expressed in Julian centuries since 1950.0). In addition, amplitudes of the dominant short periodic nutations are presented.
