The decay D_s^-arrow μ^- \overline ν_μ is a helicity suppressed electroweak process with a branching fraction which depends on the decay constant f_Ds and the CKM matrix element \vert V_cs \vert. A measurement of this branching fraction based on e^+e^- collision data collected at and near the Υ(4S) resonance by the BABAR experiment at SLAC from 1999-2001 is described.
