Results are presented for a photographic colorimetric study of the Alpine Valley region and the region around crater Tycho on the moon. The first region was photographed through color filters with effective wavelengths of 644, 423, and 397 nm; the second region was photographed at wavelengths of 695, 431, and 377 nm. The results are evaluated in terms of red-blue (R-B) and red-ultraviolet (R-UV) color indices. It is found that the color differences of individual mare or highland features in both regions amount to no more than about 10%, that the colors of highland features and part of a mare in the Alpine Valley region are almost identical, and that the ridge of Tycho is redder than its rays or immediate surroundings.
