A numerical investigation of stellar orbits in the two-dimensional spiral galactic potential model developed by Barbanis and Woltjer (1968) is presented. The spiral potential has been used in a number of studies of stellar orbits and may be taken as a reasonable description of the Milky Way Galaxy. The principal part of the orbit integrator is a seventh-order Runge-Kutta scheme. Results of the numerical calculations indicate that resonant periodic orbits determine the phase-space structure; the epicyclic approximation may be a useful means for locating these resonant orbits.
