Results are presented for broadband five-color (UBVOR) observations of the linear polarization of emission from Nova Cygni 1975, which were carried out in the period from August 30, 1975, to November 16, 1976. It is shown that most of the observed polarization was interstellar, that some polarization fluctuated with characteristic times of several hours to several days, and that the amplitude of these variations decreased monotonically with increasing wavelength in September 1975. The most probable source of the variable component is suggested to be scattering of light by discrete inhomogeneities in the expanding nova shell. It is noted that short-period variations in linear polarization were not detected during three nights of special observations.
