A dynamical determination of the local mass density ρ0 from AF stars, based on new radial velocities and photometric data and a theoretical model due to Camm, yields a value of O.14Msun pc-3. The total mass density of known matter in the solar neighbourhood is also reviewed and found to be 0.108Msun pc-3, thus reducing the "missing mass" to only ∼0.03Msun pc-3.
