The structure of horizontal wave fluxes is investigated theoretically for the global and local mechanisms of producing the five-minute solar oscillations. Both distributed absorption and the presence of point energy sinks are taken into account. Observations of the five-minute oscillations in the Ba II line at 4554 + 0.05 A are discussed which indicate regular large-scale and irregular small-scale horizontal wave-flux structures. The possibility is considered that the large-scale structures occur as a result of single-mode production with a regular distribution of local wave-energy sinks.
