The effect of the inhomogeneity of an inflationary universe on the evolving pregalactic perturbations is investigated in the context of the chaotic inflation scenario. The anisotropy of the matter density inhomogeneity spectrum is predicted for the observed part of the universe. The anisotropy is estimated at several percent in the case where the most natural physical conditions are realized in the early universe. The discovery of the predicted anisotropy would provide evidence in support of the chaotic inflation scenario.
