The paper presents an exact description of stochastic radiative transfer in M-component Markovian media with plane geometry. Stochastic radiative transfer in half-space and finite layer is described and a rigorous solution of the closure problem is given. By using this solution the framework of the so-called Levermoore model (1986) is defined and is discussed.
