We present STIS ultraviolet observations of the interstellar gas towards two relatively high galactic-latitude stars located within the projection of the extended Galactic ISM structure known as Radio Loop i. The two stars HD 192273 (l,b = 325(deg) .8,--32(deg) .9) and HD 177989 (l,b = 17(deg) .8,--11(deg) .9) were observed using the E230H and G230MB modes available with STIS. The E230H spectra have a resolution of ~ 110,000 and extend from 2575 to 2850 Angstroms while the G230MB spectra have a resolution of ~ 7,000 and extend from 2480 to 2635 Angstroms. Several components can be seen in the E230H spectra and include absorption by Mn ii 2576.87, 2594.5 and 2606.46 Angstroms, Fe ii 2586.65 and 2600.17 Angstroms and Mg ii 2796.35 and 2803.53 Angstroms. Inferences on the conditions in the various absorbing structures in the ISM along the two sightlines are presented.
