High redshift radio galaxies are the most distant galaxies (zmax = 4.2) and therefore offer a unique opportunity to study the stellar populations and the ISM in stellar systems at early cosmological epochs. Here, the authors analyze new data on the spectral energy distribution and polarization of these systems, which they interpret with the help of improved spectral population synthesis models and of a dust scattering model, with the aim to obtain information on the age of the oldest stars in these galaxies and therefore on their formation redshift and on the cosmological parameters H0 and q0.
