Emission-Line Galaxies: Stellar Populations, Galaxies: Population Synthesis

The authors emphasize the importance of stellar population synthesis (SPS) method for studying composite of stellar systems, and summarize three kinds of SPS methods. They especially introduce the SPS method based on star cluster integrated spectra (CSPS) and its application. As an example, they apply the CSPS method to the emission-line galaxy Mrk 499 spectrum and give the CSPS results.
