The Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) is a third generation instrument for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). ACS features three imaging cameras, a wide field channel (WFC), a high resolution channel (HRC) and a solar blind channel (SBC). The WFC is optimized for the near-IR and offers a 203"x203" field of view, 0.05" sq. pixels, and spectral response from 370 nm to 1100 nm. The HRC is designed for critically sampled imaging in the visible with 0.033" sq. pixels, a field of view of 32"x36" and spectral response from 200 nm to 1100nm. The HRC also offers the option of an aberrated beam coronograph. The SBC is designed for far-UV imaging from 115 nm to 1700 nm and offers a 30" x 30" field of view with 0.029" sq. pixels. ACS is currently scheduled for launch in the June 2001 HST servicing mission. In this paper we will describe recent progress in the testing and integration of ACS, and update the astronomical community on the expected performance of ACS, which will be available in the HST Cycle 10 Call for Proposals.
