We summarise the status of the CELESTE high-energy γ-ray observatory as of April 2003 with an emphasis on the changes introduced since the summer of 2001 in detector configuration, atmospheric monitoring and observing strategy. We report newer upper limits to the pulsed emission from the Crab and PSR B1951+32 pulsars and preliminary spectra above 50 GeV for the Crab Nebula and above 70 GeV for Markarian 421. We close with an outlook of our plans until the summer of 2004.
