Attention is given to the Tibet ASgamma experiment, which started in January 1990 and is located at an altitude of 4300 m at Yangbaging, Tibet. The air-shower array is composed of 49 scintillation counters for fast timing (FT), each counter having an area of 0.5 sq m, in a grid pattern with a spacing of 15 m and 16 density detectors. The array is usually operated at a trigger rate of about 20 Hz with any fourfold coincidence of the FT detectors. The experimental data analysis shows that the array's performance is implemented as expected by the Monte Carlo simulation. For events whose core are inside the FT array, the detection threshold energy for gamma rays is about 40 TeV, and the peak energy is 20 TeV. The angular resolution around 100 TeV is about 0.5 deg. The systematic error of arrival direction is considerably smaller than the angular resolution in the studied energy region.
