The dynamic behavior of turbulent convection is statistically analyzed for both steady and pulsational components. The effects of viscosity and energy transfer on the oscillational stability of the convection are investigated. It is pointed out that these effects might account for the pulsational instability strip and the light variability of red giant and supergiant stars.
