Statistical models of screening frequency and cutoff frequency for the midlatitude sporadic E layer are developed. The models are verified on experimental data. The predictive capacities of these models are analyzed, and compared with those of existing statistical models of frequency parameters. It is shown that the proposed models yield more accurate predictions than those based on the mean value of the frequency parameters.
