A statistical study of the heights of prominences in the catalogue of solar prominences of Rusin et al. (1988) is presented. The catalogue contains 16,620 prominences between 1967 and 1986. The analysis is conducted using the method proposed by Dermendjiev (1977). It is found that the height law distribution is dependent on the phase of the solar activity cycle. Also, it is shown that the height of polar prominences during a cycle changes more than the height of prominences in the main zone.
