Statistical relationships between the fundamental parameters of galaxies and the surface densities of these parameters are analyzed for a sample of 63 disk galaxies. These parameters include the radius, the mass of the entire galaxy and its various components (H_2_, H I, total gas, dust, etc.), and the blue and FIR luminosities. Of all possible two- and three-dimensional linear relations between the logarithms of these quantities, those that have high correlation coefficients are chosen and their parameters derived. Some of these relations are compared with the corresponding predictions of a single- zone model of disk galaxy evolution. Other relations are considered from the viewpoint of the properties of the interstellar medium in galaxies. A satisfactory agreement is found between theory and observations, and ways of improving evolutionary models are suggested. An orthogonal linear regression method used in statistical analysis is described.
