We made a further analysis of 6761 quasars in the Hewitt-Burbidge 1993 catalogue. The emission redshift range is between 0.0 and 4.9. The results show that, on average, association between absorbing matter and quasar is found in 43% of the cases, but the percentage varies wildly in different emission redshift intervals, from 100% in the intervals 0.2-0.3 and 3.6-3.7 to 0% in the interval 0.7-0.8. The interval at zem = 2.0 is outstanding: it is where the numbers of quasars with emission redshifts, with absorption redshifts, with 3 or more absorption lines, with 6 or more absorption lines, all peak.
