Results are presented for a statistical study of the galaxy catalogs compiled by Vorontsov-Veliaminov et al. (1962-1968) and by Zwicky et al. (1961-1968). It is shown that there are considerable differences between the separate volumes of the catalogs. It is concluded that both catalogs are apparently not well suited for detailed statistical analysis of the space distribution of galaxies.
