Recent radio observations of NGC 891 made by Allen and Hu (1984) provide new results on the spectral index z-distribution in the halo. A simple static and diffusive model of cosmic electron propagation is presented. In the coronal magnetic field perpendicular to the disk, the electron diffusion increases with the height above the plane. The comparison with the observed radio emission limits the value of the ratio diffusion coefficient/(magnetic field)-squared. This results as a consequence of the fact that diffusion must be more rapid than losses in order for the spectral index to remain constant.
