Stark widths and shifts of 20 ArII lines were measured in the range of electron densitites from 0.74 to 2.03 x 10(exp 17)/cu cm and at temperatures from 10880 to 13880 K. A wall stabilized cascade arc with a channel diameter of 4 mm was used as a light source. The plasma temperature was calculated from local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) plasma equations and also determined from a Boltzmann plot. The free electron density was derived from the Stark broadening of H(sub Beta) and the relative intensity of continuum radiation. The spectral lines of helium and argon plasma were used as reference point for the ArII line-shift determinations. Our results are compared with other published experimental data.
