A relatively inexpensive telescope system which can acquire and track stars and solar-illuminated satellite with less than one microradian rms error is described. The system uses simple desktop computers without performance compromises, with a user interface that makes acquisition and tracking of LEO satellites a simple one-man operation. The 1.5 m telescope, acquisition cameras, tracker, steering mirror, telescope computer, and software are examined.
