Massive star formation efficiency (SFE) in arms near the major axis of
the M31 galaxy is compared to the interarm efficiency. The known H II
region diameters and surface densities of atomic hydrogen are used.
Statistic tests show that the SFE in the southern arms of M31, perhaps
only in the S4 arm, is greater than the interarm SFE.
