The IRAS data was used to study the star formation in different types of galaxies including HSBG, Arakelian, and Markarian galaxies. The IR fluxes from IRAS were considered as an example of Karachentsev double galaxies. It is concluded that the star formation activity in Karachentsev's double galaxies is lower than in the Arakelian, HSBG, and Markarian and is similar to the SFR in bright spiral galaxies in Virgo.
