Gravitational wave emission by coalescing black holes kicks the remnant black hole with a typical velocity of hundreds of km/s. This velocity is sufficiently large to remove the remnant black hole from a low-mass galaxy but is below the escape velocity from the Milky Way galaxy. If central black holes were common in the galactic building blocks that merged to make the Milky Way, then hundreds of black holes that were kicked out of low-mass galaxies should be freely floating in the Milky Way halo today. These black holes can be observed today because they are surrounded by dense cusp of stars. I will discuss the observational characteristics of these unique star clusters, the best search strategies to find them, and my best candidates. An observational discovery of this relic population of star clusters in the Milky Way halo would constrain the formation history of the Milky Way and the dynamics of black hole mergers in the early Universe.
