Stanley introduces polynomials which help evaluate symmetric group characters
and conjectures that the coefficients of the polynomials are positive. Stanley
later gives a conjectured combinatorial interpretation for the coefficients of
the polynomials. Here, we prove the conjecture for the terms of highest degree.
