The problem considered here concerns a uniformly rotating inhomogeneous gravitating ellipsoid with a constant density on each similar ellipsoidal surface. A material point can move freely in a space filled with a gravitating mass. Conditions for the existence of relative equilibriums are formulated, and their stability is analyzed. The results obtained are interpreted from the standpoint of stellar systems.
