In light of recent findings from Szebehely's inverse problem the authors study in this paper the linear orbital stability of a monoparametric family of concentric circular orbits created in the plane of symmetry outside a finite material concentration which is symmetric with respect to this plane. The method which the authors presented indicates that such studies can be formulated merely on geometrical grounds without reference to time.
