The authors present an extensive study of IUE spectra of SS Cygni in quiescence together with optical medium dispersion spectra. The ultraviolet spectrum shows a power law distribution Fλ∝λα. The values of α best-fitting the spectra, are roughly -4 and -1 shortward and longward ≡1450 Å, respectively. The optical spectra show double peaked Balmer lines occasionally masked by a low velocity emission.
