Meteor trains are an important factor in the investigation of ionospheric parameters and transfer processes in the ionosphere. In the present paper, the spreading of a meteor train at an arbitrary angle to the magnetic field is analyzed. It is shown that the spreading process is highly sensitive to the ratio of plasma concentration in the train to that in the unperturbed ionosphere and that it depends on the six vector components of electric and magnetic field and wind intensities. Knowledge of the dynamics of spreading can, therefore, yield important data on these ionospheric parameters.
