The work describes the structure of discrete-time motion induced by an orbit of a quasiperiodic system at the boundary of state space. Some results on ergodic splitting of the linear segment and the circle are presented; based on a numerical observation, some possible applications in quantum theory and celestial mechanics are discussed. For the split rates of these two simplest geometrical objects we obtained γ =1.524 and λ = 0.532; we discuss different situations where almost the same numerical constants appear: the Bohr radius, Balmer's spectral lines (3-d wavenumber) in hydrogen atom, and the mean distance between the Sun and Mars.
