Infrared, millimeter and submillimeter observations have helped established infrared dark clouds (IRDCs) as molecular cloud cores with gas densities in excess of 106 cm-3, temperatures of 20 K or less and sizes of 1-10 pc. The detection of protostars and protostellar cores have confirmed that IRDCs are sites of current star formation activity. Using data from pointed observations made of a sample of IRDCs with the IRAC and MIPS instruments aboard the Spitzer Space Telescope. we have searched for protostellar sources of both Class 0 and Class I which we have identified on the basis of their IRAC and MIPS colors. The detection and analysis of these sources is proving to be crucial to the study of protostellar objects evolving within the environments of IRDCs. Initial results will be presented and discussed.
