The gasdynamic properties of a steady, spherically symmetric accretion flow are studied, allowing for the change in ionization during the contraction process. The solution is compared with polytropic flow. The radial profiles of the gas velocity and sound speed in the accreting flow, the pressure and density profiles, and the profiles for the adiabatic index and the specific heat at constant volume, ionization, and temperature are shown.
