Galactic disk magnetic fields are generated by the differential rotation and turbulent helical motion of interstellar gas, where the turbulence kinetic energy spectral density exceeds the magnetic energy spectral density. Magnetic and kinetic energy equipartition is reached at 6 pc in the intercloud medium, and maintained down to the 0.03 pc scale. The internal turbulent velocities of H I clouds whose size is assumed to be 10 pc lie in the 1.8-5.6 km/sec range, consistent with the observed internal rms velocity range. The dissipation of the interstellar MHD turbulence results in temperature fluctuations whose amplitude is 150 K in dense clouds and 65 K in the intercloud medium, and provides nearly half of the energy supply needed for the maintenance of interstellar medium thermal balance.
