SINCE 1928 I have been carrying out bxperiments on the absorption of
cosmic rays in Lake Constance, which is 250 m. deep and lies 395 m.
above sea-level. I was able to follow the cosmic rays to a depth of
236.5 m. Analysis of the absorption curve showed four components of
different penetrating power.
