Optical surveys for quasars are very successful, but highly incomplete at redshifts 2 < z < 3, just at the peak of quasar activity. Here we propose to use the 2-Micron All Sky Survey matched with the Digitized Palomar Observatory Sky Survey to hunt for quasars at these redshifts using both optical and infrared data. Candidates are chosen on the basis of color and morphology. Here we proposed to perform object identification of our candidates using the GoldCam CCD Spectrogrpah on the KPNO 2.1m telescope. The quasar spectra will allow the survey completeness of optical surveys to be more accurately determined, and allow for the study of quasar properties as a function of selection technique.
