A series of observations which show an outburst of Hα emission in
EW Lac during 1982 - 1983 are presented. On Jan. 28, 1983, Hα
emission was obviously strengthened and peaked to an equivalent width of
78.2Å. The whole event lasted a few tens of days. The possible
orgin of the outburst is briefly discussed.
