Be star spectroscopic observations in the IR and other pertinent spectral regions are considered. Attention is given to the Johnson (1977) stellar atlas, whose spectra were obtained by Fourier transform spectroscopy, and to the Garrison (1978) extension of observations of Herbig Ae/Be stars to the near-IR. It is established by the latter study that such stars exhibit heavy reddening and a smaller Balmer discontinuity than that observed in stars of analogous spectral type. Also considered are the results of the Scargle et al. (1978) study of the Gamma Cas IR spectrum, as well as the various stellar models proposed by the authors.
