The spectroscopic mode image quality of STIS as determined from the on- orbit observations during SMOV will be presented. Calibration spectra were obtained by taking internal line lamp exposures using an appropriately long, 2 pixel wide slit. The measurements were done with 7 first-order gratings which were used to extract instrumental line profiles at different positions of the CCD and the MAMA detectors. The line-widths measured at different positions of the detectors for different gratings were found to be close to 2 pixels for all modes. Deep exposures were taken to check for extended wings of the lines and to ensure a complete field coverage for the lines. The actual line profiles, line-widths and the encircled energies as a function of the number of pixels, along with the details of the procedure adapted for the wavelength calibration will be presented.
