High redshift (z>1) galaxy clusters are powerful systems with which to study the formation and evolution of large scale structure, as well as to constrain cosmological parameters. The IRAC Shallow survey is an 8.5 deg2 Spitzer survey in the NDWFS Boötes field optimized to find dozens of clusters at 1 < z < 2 using photometric redshifts. The method is independent of the strength of the cluster red sequence, and therefore provides an unbiased window on the era of cluster formation. To date we have spectroscopically confirmed 4 clusters at 1.11 < z < 1.41, the details of which will be presented, and we will be targetting clusters at still higher redshift this spring. This sample will allow a determination of the mass assembly and star formation histories of massive early type galaxies. Please see the complementary poster by P. R. Eisenhardt et al.
